Well here it is, I've reached day seventeen. This challenge is becoming a guilty pleasure of mine. I keep telling my boyfriend I need to do work just so I can sit here and write. Maybe I'm meant to write short stories? I'm thinking about giving them a go in wattpad, thoughts? Leave them in the comments!
Write a short thriller scene.
The thriller genre loves to make the reader fear for the main character's safety. Today, try writing an action scene that will have your readers on the edge of their seats. Don't be afraid to put your character in grave danger.
His hands lunged for my neck as I screamed. There were no other options, it was him or me and I knew it wasn't going to be me. Fingers clasped around the back of my neck and muffled the end of my scream. My brain went haywire trying to remember what I had learned in my self-defence class. My heart beat like a drum in my chest.
I could feel the oxygen depleting and my need for air was growing. As my vision blurred I tried to prise his hands apart enough to get mine in between. Using my land bit of energy I pushed outwards and forced his hands off of me, then while he was shocked momentarily my leg hit him where it hurts. As he fell to the ground clutching himself in pain I wiped the tears from my cheek and coughed. My deep breathing was a dead giveaway that I was weak, but I wouldn't let him take me.
There wasn't much around in the way of weapons but all I really needed to do was knock him out before the pain dispersed allowing him to pursue me again.
"Hey little lady, don't think you can get away that easily," came his voice and shivers crept down my spine.
