These are possibly my favourite posts to write each month - mainly because I'm not doing any writing. Secondly because I get an inside look into bloggers and writers brains that I then get to share with my readers. Today I have the lovely Alice.
1. Why did you start your blog?
I started my blog almost two years ago as I needed a hobby. I'd read blogs for some time and had just started watching YouTube videos too and I thought it would be something I'd enjoy. I always loved English and writing at school so I set up my blog on blogger but it still took me another three months to hit publish. Annie Writes Beauty first went live 1st January 2014 and I've been blogging ever since!
2. Do you think you have a niche?
I mainly write about beauty, I had been told for some time that I had enough 'crap' loaded into draws to give me content for months so that's the route it's taken. I do also write the odd food and lifestyle post though, I think it's nice to switch it up every now and then.
3. Would you say bloggers need a niche to be successful?
No, I think as long as you enjoy what you're writing and it's readable, someone, somewhere will love it. As long as you also love what you're doing and what you're writing about then just sit back and let your imagination flow. A niche isn't everything in the blogging world.
4. Have you ever used any blogging resources?
Other than Blogger, No. I am so un-bloggy. I take some photos, write a little something and hit publish. I like to keep it as easy and as my hobby still as much as I can. If I start worrying about where my blog is placed, and if I have 100+ broken links or not I feel like it'll almost take the fun of an afternoon sat writing. That's how I feel about it anyway, many will probably disagree but it's worked for me so far plus I still love every minute of it.
5. If you weren't blogging what would you be doing now?
Knitting? Ha. I don't know, I can't remember what I did before blogging which is crazy as it wasn't that long ago. Drinking and getting up to mischief probably!
6. What's your dream job?
I always wanted to be a History teacher! That was always the plan anyway... Do my GCSE's, go to college, uni and be a teacher. I moved to Spain at 15 and finished my education there and my whole views on life changed. If I'm honest, I'm almost 26 and still don't know what my dream job would be.
Always inspiring to know that not everyone knows where they should be heading in life, no matter the age!
