I found this through twitter. Rachel and Kory were talking about this debut novel, and since I follow Kory on twitter because of her amazing website, and I love books, I knew this was a good match. I bought Finding Lily and read it straight away, now I'm having the pleasure of writing about it.
Lily Gardner thought she'd found her soul mate when she met and married the handsome and well-off Thomas Gardner. But eight years later, with a two-year-old in tow, she finds herself wading through the messy waters of divorce, and crying herself to sleep at night wondering if she's lost her chance at love... and herself in the process. When she's assigned the task of working with Nathan Trainor to reel in a popular author who is seeking new representation, she must put her troubles aside and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
At once touching and hope, FINDING LILY captures what it feels like to be given a second chance at life... and love.
This may have been a little short, as I wanted it to continue on for much longer, but this was the perfect little read. An enchanting story that allows you to fall in love with all of the characters.
The relationship between Lily and Thomas is super believable you can definitely see this playing out in real life. You can also tell that Lily is very passionate about her work. I absolutely loved how it developed into a challenge. A well known author has decided to go away from his current publisher and Lily's boss wants him.
However her co-worker seems to have eyes far bigger than just the works prize. I love how their story and relationship develop throughout this book. Plus the added advice form Lily's sister is sure to make you smile.
