If there is something I've seen a lot of people do recently it's bare all with their goals for this year, so I thought I would join in. In October I gave myself the challenge of creating a workbook for you guys by December 30th. I totally smashed that goal and had to wait 6 weeks before you even got to see it. I know sneaky of me. It made me realise that setting goals can be a good thing, even if you don't achieve them (I failed my 1600 words a week target for the book) because it still means you did more than you did before.
I don't want to over pressureise myself so I only have 5 goals for this year and hopefully I'll smash them all. If you have any ideas for me, leave them down below in the comments!
1. Finish decorating the house
Well when I say house I really mean the Lounge/Diner and the Bedrooms. We still need a wardrobe in our bedroom to complete it, which would then free up the spare room for painting, and then that would free up the little room so I can finally get an office at home.
2. Finish first draft of The Collective: A Pirate Adventure
My target date for this is to have the first draft completed by 28th February so it's then ready to self-edit before passing it onto one of my amazing friends for them to edit it. So far so good but who knows what blocks and life disasters might pave the way.
3. Publish my writing
This obviously all depends on number 2, however I am thinking about starting a story over on wattpad. Would be kind of like a spy novel, let me know if you'd like more information down in the comments below.
4. Outline Plot Bunnies
I have 10 ideas for novels. I do not know if I will write them all (I hope so) but they are there sitting in a folder waiting for my attention. Sometimes they call to me and try to sway me away from my WIP but I try to bat them away. My aim is to have all of them outlined as soon as possible so I can pull one out when it's time and get down to the nitty gritty writing stage.
5. Create Useful Content
I want this space on the internet to inspire other writers, so I am doing all I can to write useful and thought provoking content for you. I want to create workbooks and planners and courses that will blossom you into the writer you want to be, and I want you to be inspired. If there is anything you really need from me, drop it in a comment below and I'll do my best to help out!
So there we go, those are my 5 mini goals, as I am now going to call them, and hopefully I won't fail in my attempt to get them done. What are your goals for 2016?
